JCR Gratis Subscriptions

The Journal of Consumer Research (JCR) is dedicated to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion in academia. Increasing access to JCR is one of the goals of the Journal’s Policy on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

While most academic institutions provide faculty and students with access to JCR through their University library, some institutions do not provide such access. To make the journal more accessible, we are piloting a program to provide free JCR online subscriptions to scholars without access or funding for access.

To qualify, a scholar must:

1. Not have university or local (city library, etc.) online/remote access to JCR.<

2. Not have access to university funding for such services.

3. Be enrolled as a PhD student or a research active scholar (i.e., working on research for which JCR access will be a useful resource).

4. Provide documentation that they have contacted their university library about the Research4Life accessibility program. A copy of the email communication will suffice.

5. Write a brief statement about why they need access and why their school either does not qualify for the Research4Life accessibility program or is not receptive to joining.
