On Three Binding Rules

My “Just a Thought” column regularly presents, as stated, “non-binding ideas for JCR authors.” That is, tips and advice that you may adopt if you wish. This post doesn’t. Instead, I’d like to reiterate three binding rules that some authors try to break at times. First, page length: 60 pages (preferably less). Second, revision notes: 15 pages (ideally also less). Finally, a revision must be resubmitted within one year, and papers close to acceptance in even less than a year (as specified by the editor). No exceptions.
